BIOLOGY - Transport in Man

~transport in man~ [NOT DONE. DONT HAVE MUCH REFERANCE ALSO. SOMEONE HELP!]

absorption at small intestine
glucose
amino acids
fatty acids/gylcerol

absorption at large intestine
water
minerals
vitamins

all the above would be absorbed to the blood stream via the HEPATIC PORTAL VEIN
and they are transported to the liver, then to other body parts.

assimilation -> utilisation of absorbed products
_________________

destruction of villi (in small intestine and large intestine)
cannot absorb -> villi (place for absorption)

  • more watery faeces
  • "fatty" faeces
  • malnutrition

  • stomach removed
  • low protein diet
  • liquid food
  • small amount at regular interval
  • chew food more

  • stomach ulcer
    chemicals -> neutralize
